Yes, that's right. I said knitting. I have finally been able to knit again. Not a lot, no more than a couple rounds on a sock in one sitting, but it is knitting nonetheless. I have soooo missed knitting! I have crocheted some over this past 18 months since the repetitive injury and enjoyed it, but there is something about knitting that just appeals to me. Socks in particular. So easy to carry with, so deliciously cuddly on the tootsies, so good for trying out new stitch combos.
This particular pair of socks is for me. My knitting will be extremely limited, at least while I test out my finger's fitness, so I'm going to be stingy. I dyed the yarn a couple years ago, named the colorway Iris Garden. It is merino fingering. I cast on 72 stitches, using size one needles, I think, bamboo circs and magic loop. Cuff is a 2 x 2 rib, leg is 4 stitch simple cables separated by 2 garter stitches. I'm tossing in cable cross overs whenever I feel like it, so this is basically Dicey without the dice. And cuff down not toe up. Not sure I will be able to complete the pair in time for upcoming winter but for now, slow and steady will eventually win the day.
