To Norma! Even when she's self indulgent, she's delightful. Is that fawning enough? No? Ok, remember the dyeing workshop I posted about? These two skeins are my favorites of the yarns I did that day. They are 2 ounce skeins and I wanted to do something special with them. So, in honor of Norma and Vincent, I'm going to combine them into a hat for The Dulaan Project.
Am I a bad wife for getting a chuckle out of this? DH picked up a nail in the sidewall of his right rear tire. He loves his car and is very particular about it. We've always taken our cars for their tire needs to Town Fair Tire. They've got every kind of tire you could want, generally in stock, and they get you in and out. The one time we didn't go there (my car) was only because the tires probably wouldn't make it that far (yeah, steel showing through). We were not happy with the result, both wear wise and financially. But this time, DH decided he didn't have time to drive out of his way and wait for the car. On Saturday, he went about 2 miles from home to a local tire shop that didn't have his tire in stock, so he ordered it for Monday and paid about $160 for one tire to match the other three, because the location of the nail means repair is not possible. The tire wasn't in until mid-day so DH left the car first thing Monday morning. And the shop closes at 5 pm and DH doesn't get home from work early enough, so he left it overnight, driving the ancient Jeep with its dead AC. Yeah, in the middle of this nasty heat wave. His commute is about 45 minutes. Bright and early this morning, I took him over to the shop to pick up his car. There it was with the new tire nicely mounted on the right front. The tire with the nail still on the right rear. I did at least save my chuckles for after DH left for the day.
